Dylan "unplugged" is a pretty solid effort, this one rolls along nicely, 8 it is for "My Favorites"; Long Live RP!!

No, not the "sole" criteria, but one criterion among many, and one that apparently detracts from the musical experience -- quite a bit for some people. I've always thought the perennial apology that he's not trying to sing well was kind of contrived. You could justify a lot of cacophony under that excuse (the keening of that Gotye song comes to mind). And who are these mindreaders who happen to know from song to song whether or not Bob is trying to sing well? Does it matter? It seems to come out the same way regardless of his intentions. That being said, there's nothing wrong with being merely a great lyricist.

I couldn't disagree more. Bob co-headlined a show in town with Elvis Costello. Elvis was fantastic, Bob sounded like he should have thrown in the towel a few decades ago. It wasn't just not good compared to Blonde on Blonde or Highway 61 or something like that... it was just plain BAD. Too bad for a once great artist.

Did not know that enunciation was that important in rock?!?! Seems to me I remember numerous debates among friends as to the exact words that were being sung on many a song, by many artists (before someone went and found the lyrics -- not as easy back then, pre-internet).

Actually, that's mostly meaningless. You would be hard pressed to find a song with more than 25 ratings that's not 1/10. The low/high numbers are meaningless. I'd rather see, perhaps, a bar graph showing the spread of votes.Oh I missed hearing this..play it again! Please!

Agreed... suprising he can still make a tune... but at the same time.. the same problem as many of his songs.. some times the words are so slurred you can\'t recognize them..
Dignity was the biggest surprise and a highlight on the Bob Dylan Unplugged (irony) album, I think. After doing some of his old songs, Dylan showed he could still sound meaningful and at the same time contemporary, if he wanted to.

Like the band, but as always, I really wish Bob would hire a new lead singer.
That said, the music is so good on this, I\'m almost tempted to buy the record.
