Oh, life is full of trouble
The short and long is all the same
Right and wrong is all distorted
If you're confused, well, I don't blame you
Seems the rules were all illusions
A house of postcards tumbling down
We lift our eyes to man-made constellations
With an agony profound
Oh, and strange tastes like trouble
And trouble tastes like strange
Keep your eyes open and your mouth shut
And please stay away from danger
Do we crave the disarray
That comes with the pain of rearranging?
Because change tastes like trouble
And trouble tastes like change
Where is the spirit?
Where is the guide?
And why are we so afraid that we'll be forced to lie down
In this bed that we have made?
We give our hearts, we give our brains
We give our blood, we give our breath
We give ourselves, we give our children
To a construct we call death
Oh, and strange tastes like trouble
And trouble tastes like strange
Keep your eyes open and your mouth shut
And please stay away from danger
Do we crave the disarray
That comes with the pain of rearranging?
Because change tastes like trouble
And trouble tastes like change
What do we do?
What do we do?
Where do we go?
Where do we go?
Where do we come from?
Where do we come from?
I'm asking you 'cause I don't know
Oh, and strange tastes like trouble
And trouble tastes like strange
Keep your eyes open and your mouth shut
And please stay away from danger
Do we crave the disarray
That comes with the pain of rearranging?
Because change tastes like trouble
And trouble tastes like change
Don't we love the taste of trouble?
And don't we pray for beneficent change?
Oh, life is full of trouble

Right and wrong is all distorted
If you're confused, well, I don't blame you
Seems the rules were all illusions

I love the offset vocals.. Not matching up is extremely creative. It almost sounds improvised. Wonderful!
Not so sure about the harmony on this song.
Are you kiddin me? Why all the haters?
This is a great song!
This is a great song!

It sounds like Emmylou Harris duet. It is very pleasant.

It's everywhere as a Bonnie Prince Billy song, no mention of Bill Callahan.
The BPB Video
It is a Bonnie Prince Billy song. An obvious listing error made by RP, hopefully it will be sorted out and accredited to BPB.
