I haven't been in 30+ years, but when I went to the Broken Spoke in Austin on S Lamar Blv, it was a hoot.  Definitely wear your ropers, creased jeans, belt, and favorite western shirt.  The hat is optional.  This type of music is what you'll hear there and you can boot-scoot the night away.
