Had to look up the artist/group after falling in love with this lovely song ...

Found an entry in the Dutch Wikipedia, here is the English translation:

Marijata is a Ghanaian afrobeat band. The band is very aware of African history and is engaged in pan-African awareness.

History

The group was formed around 1976 by Lovelace Kofi “Electric” Addison, Nathan Fredua Prempeh (better known as “Nat Osmanu”) and Bob Andrew Fischian. Later, Pat Thomas and Senior Eddie Donkor joined.

In 1976, the first album by (then) the trio was released, called “This is Marijata,” which was received as rich afrofunk. With this album, the band tried to bring some innovation and freshness and return to raw funk. “I Walk Alone,” “We Live In Peace,” “No Condition Is Permanent” and “Break Through” are better known songs from the album.

Once Thomas joined them, the band released its second album, called “Pat Thomas Introduces Marijata.” Thomas' unique voice is well heard on this. Better-known songs include “Salvation,” “Mother Africa,” “My Love Will Shine,” That's The Way,“ Brain Washing,” “Papa's Little Boy,” “Black Beautiful Race,” “I Can Say” and “Don't Blame Us.”

In 1977, Thomas and the band recorded another album called “Pat Thomas And Marijata.”

Anno 2017, Addison (the group's leader) lives in New York, Nat Prempeh in Columbus and Fischian in Berlin.

I like it, great to jam on bongos to!
loving this jam first time round. Easy 8 to start. Potential 10 with the change up. Strong finish if your patient.
