I really, really enjoy hearing the relatively clean tone Carlos' employs here rather than the overly sustained tones he seems to have relied on more on later recordings. To my ears, this sounds more personal, intimate, and it carries more emotion.

"the carefree 70's"

Whuut?

Cold-war manifestations all over the place; coups, civil wars, upheavals by the dozens; OPEC oil embargo, recessions, stagflation; Watergate; Vietnam chaos; Soviet Union invasion of Afghanistan; Pol Pot genocide in Cambodia; Iranian revolution and hostage crisis; massacre at the Munich Olympics; right-wing dictatorships in South America; bombings and Bloody Sunday in Northern Ireland; millions killed in famines and natural disasters…

Elevator music as usual from Santana.

If elevators actually played this kind of music I'd miss my floor.

Yeah, awesome record! My first concert. But....definitely NOT all the Santana I need!

wonderful LP 🕉🕉
I can hear how  REM were inspired, 'Underneath the Bunker' on Life's Rich Pageant!
Extremely corny, one of their worst songs.

Very well stated!
I'll always have a place in my heart from some classic Santana. Had the rare (for me) opportunity to attend his show at the Teatro Greco in Sicily last week - the man still has it and when he started into "Moonflower"... I was in my own little heaven - despite the dumbasses walking in front of me arriving late and leaving early — WTF! {#Arghhh} Anyway, back to my bliss....{#Meditate}

Worked in a record store when this came out.  Listened to it a lot.  Loved the part in the live "Europa" (I think that's the tune) where Carlos hits a note that sustains for a long time.  We used to time it!

I no right

A jem. An 8.
Calypsus_1, thank you for your wonderful artistic contributions here. You add beauty, and I know I am not the only one who appreciates your gifts to us in these pages.
Oh yes, and this is a lovely piece by Carlos!

O disco "Guitar Heaven", reuni clássicos da música, é o primeiro gravado em estúdio desde "All That I Am", de 2005.
Vale conferir!

Can recognize a Santana instrumental from two towns over.
A cracking number from a classic album, part live, part studio, that has aged surprisingly well
He is just sooooooo good.. his guitar just sings to me.
Lounge music. Not in a good way.

Santana's instrumentals always make me want to have a tropical drink on the beach. Ahhhh...
