I'm diggin the NM theme you got going, Bill. Are you going to follow with something by the Shins (originally an Albuquerque band)?

Shawn Mullins = a personal fave. This one very good! Thank you!

The Nottingham jury concurs with that rating. I can't help thinking of songs like this in my head as part of a vague 'US-road-diner-convertible-drifter' genre.
Tough crowd indeed. I don't know much of Shawn's work but I like this one. Good imagery and the mood perceptibly builds a little bit throughout the journey.
An 8 from the non-Nottingham jury.

Man ... tough crowd. I give it a 7.
Desert drivel. I can't get the stinky beer smell off my Pendleton.
Way back up in the hills among the evergreens, there stood an old house made of earth and wood.
I hadn't heard anything like this from Shawn Mullins - I only knew what I'd heard on regular radio a few years ago (Lullaby, et al.) This one is a nice, kind of laid-back bluesy groove.

Gotta love any song with a line like that!
Well, um, no I don't. "She was grinding like the gears in a Pacer"

haven't liked anything he's done, until i heard this song. this one isn't so bad. different than the others i've heard on npr & rp. still...not fabulous.
Yeah, this is the most palatable song I've heard from him, too. I'll give it a 3.
Shawn is the man. He makes me want to jump in the truck and take a long road trip with just his music for company. A perfect example of why I continue to listen to RP.
I love the story in the lyrics, the mock-seriousness of this song always makes me smile. :D

and take photoshop away from him/her, please.
