Anxiety, keep on tryin' me
I feel it quietly
Tryin' to silence me, yeah
My anxiety, can't shake it off of me
Somebody's watchin' me
And my anxiety, yeah
Oh
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Solo, no mojo
I bounce back, no pogo
Unhappy, no -
New brands, no logos
Money on my jugular, natural hustler
Think I need a smuggler up in Russia
You could be my butler, shine my cutla'
Shout out to Oyenda, that's the guzzler
Okay, next thing, my life is a wet dream
I call it a sex scene, the back is a nice tease
I tried to escape, my life is a X-rate
I'm sorry, a sex tape, you only get one take
Quiet on the set, please
Rolling "Anxiety"
In three, two, one
Anxiety, keep on tryin' me
I feel it quietly
Tryin' to silence me, yeah
Anxiety, shake it off of me
Somebody's watchin' me
It's my anxiety, yeah
Anxiety, anxiet-
Oh, I feel it tryin' (oh)
Keep it tryin', keep it tryin'
Oh, I feel the silence (oh, ooh)
Keep it quiet, keep it tired
Oh, somebody's touchin' me
Anxiety, anxiet-
Oh, I feel anxiet-
My anxiety, anxiet- (it's my anxiety)
Oh, I feel it tryin' (can't let it conquer me)
Keep it tryin', keep it tryin' (it's my anxiety)
Oh, I feel the silence (gotta shake it off of me)
Keep it quiet, keep it quiet (it's my anxiety)
Oh, somebody's watchin' me (can't let it caution me)
Anxiety, anxiet- (it's my anxiety)
Oh, I feel anxiety (gotta keep it off of me, yeah)
Anxiety, anxiet-

Oh, I feel it tryin'
Keep it tryin', keep it tryin'
Oh, I feel the silence
Keep it quiet, keep it quiet
Oh, somebody's watchin' me
Anxiety, anxiet-
Oh, I feel anxiety
Court order from Florider
What's in that clear blue water?
No limits, no borders
What's in that new world order?
Marco (Marco), Polo (Polo)
Negro run from po-po (po-po)
That blue light and that rojo (rojo)
And it's like

I get this tightness in my chest
Like an elephant is standing on me
And I just let it take over
Anxiety keeps on trying me
Anxiety keeps on tryin' me, yeah, ooh
Anxiety, anxiet-
Oh, I feel it tryin'
Keep it tryin', keep it tryin'
Oh, I feel the silence
Keep it quiet, keep it quiet
Oh, somebody's watchin' me (oh, it keeps on trying me)
Anxiety, anxiet- (it keeps on trying, t-trying, trying)
Oh, I feel anxiet- (oh)
My anxiety, it's my anxiety
Oh, can't shake it off of me (it's my anxiety)
Keep it tryin', keep it tryin' (it's my anxiety)
Oh, I feel the silence (can't shake it off of me)
It's my anxiety (keep it quiet, keep it quiet)
Oh, somebody's watchin' me (can't shake it off of me)
It's my anxiety (oh)
Gotta keep it off of me (oh)
Can't shake it off of me
Shake, shake it off of me (oh, I feel it tryin')
It's my anxiety
Gotta keep it off of me (oh, I feel the silence)
Can't shake it off of me
Shake, shake it off of me (oh, somebody's watchin' me)
It's my anxiety

(Oh) gotta shake it off of me

The complaints about this song are very telling, and show a fundamental lack of understanding about other genres of music, specifically in this case hip-hop and rap (which are generally not popular here on RP). That's fine if you prefer the classic rock from your youth, and you don't care for some entire new genres of music that are popular among age groups and ethnicities other than your own; we all have our own preferences and biases. But going out of your way try to try to disparage artists by claiming sampling is "plagiarism", "stealing", "lazy", "talentless", etc... just shows your ignorance. You are embodying the "old man yells at cloud" stereotype meme.

Obviously this samples heavily from Gotye's "Somebody That I Use To Know", and Doechii even pays tribute to Gotye's video in her own video for this song. Clearly Doechii isn't' trying to hide that she's using Gotye's music, she obviously liked the song, as do many of you.

What makes these types of complaints even more absurd is the fact that to create "Somebody That I Used To Know" Gotye himself sampled Luiz Bonfá's "Seville" and others.

Sampling has a long history in many genres of music, not to mention straightforward using or refencing the music of those that came before you. It's similar to literature when an author will reference the stories of other authors that came before them. Certainly you realize that Rock and Roll gained early popularity by white artists playing songs by black artists. When credit is given to the original artist, it's not "stealing"; which wasn't the case for too much of early rock.

If this song isn't your cup of tea, fine, give it a low rating and then hit Skip/PSD and move on with your life. I don't expect to like every song on Radio Paradise, and I wouldn't enjoy listening to this station so much if it didn't push my boundaries, and that means sometimes playing songs that I dislike. But when that happens I don't cry and wine and try to claim that songs I don't like must be done by artists with no talent. That seems self-serving and shallow, possibly an attempt to claim that because you recognized the song the artist sampled that means you are somehow better than they are. Get over yourself.

Thank you Bill/William for playing songs I would not have been exposed to otherwise, even if I don't always like them, that's why I support this station.
PSD, PSD, PSD every time this crap invades my earspace...
I'm fine with this - can't see the issue really
I vote no on interpolations. Esp here at RP.
Please stop playing this tripe.
Anxiety, keep on tryin' me
I feel it quietly
Tryin' to silence me, yeah
My anxiety, can't shake it off of me
Somebody's watchin' me
And my anxiety, yeah

I think it starts off  good and then just gets much worse. A 1 from me.

"Now you're just a thief that I used to know....."

It's possible that she licensed the rights for this use though.

And middle... and ending...
Every now and then, there are songs which take highly successful, existing tracks and turn them into something new and wonderful in their own right.

And then there's this. If you're going to lift something as unique and successful as Goyte's famous banger then you have to do it a lot better than this track does. A big swing that misses in every single respect.
Terrible creation which has likely had a net negative impact on the world (in the form of aggravating everyone who has the misfortune of hearing this).

I tend to have eclectic taste in music, but this is just lazy, talentless ranting to Gotye’s tune.
Another remake, this time of a song that gave me the cringe every time I heard it anyway. Oh well.

Something I’ve learned along the way is that rating a tune a one doesn’t make it go away.  It won’t have any effect whatsoever on how frequently you will hear it played in rotation.  In essence, it changes nothing. The true joy in rating this atrocity a one comes with knowing that you will never hear it played in your favorites.  And for that you and I both can be eternally grateful!.

It cannot be plagiarism since it gives credit to the composers.

It took me a few seconds to get over myself, then I realized I really like this.
I feel a bit guilty for liking this?!?
Got an 8 from me on first listen, really love it! I'm bummed for those of you that can't appreciate the artistry and skill involved in sampling and properly layering on vocals and lyrics on another's piece of music, and Doechii does very well here IMO!
I guess I can understand why somebody would want to use an already popular piece of music to advance their exposure to listeners, but it seems like an unearned shortcut to popularity and shows little to no creativity. Keep your Karaoke BS at home or a neighborhood bar where it belongs, stop hijacking someone else's talent and write your own damn music...

new lyrics over his music

I think it´s a good piece, besides Gotye sampling I consider there are good chorus and rythm from Doechii. But honestly, I´m already done with the song, every Instagram reel/story and TikTok has it. Enough.

On the other hand, as someone who doesn't use Instagram or TikTok, I really appreciate Bill playing this. Very cool!

Call it a tribute and lots of negativity  just evaporates away

It’s not so much a “Gotye sample” as “wearing a Gotye skin suit”
It's gets upgraded to a two because the sampled song is pretty catchy.
It’s the Gotye music bed with different lyrics. Suck-O-Barf-O.
She really should’ve read the fine print—this song is cursed! Legend has it, anyone who dares sing this tune is doomed to be a one-hit wonder. Catchy? Yes. Career-ending? Also yes.
This isn’t some remix of Goyte?
At the beginning I was happy to hear the great song by Gotye. Several seconds later I was pisssed.
9/10 songs that you hear on mainstream, pop music radio stations are pure plagiarism.
No creativity whatsoever in these instant "hits".
Radio Paradise should not support these "artists".
Waiting on some 16 year old Kpop kid remixing Bohemian Rhapsody next

That was (long pause) interesting.  But in a goodish way.  The Gotye melody made me stop and listen, so I guess it served its purpose.
Not bad. I think Gotye would approve. Nice to see Bill jumping to the latest trending TikTok sound :-)

Mate that's not just a sample, she's gone full-on improv karaoke!
I think any voice, any lyrics, any sound would be a hit when Somebody That I used to Know is the background :p

Intriguing, though the Gotye sample is a bit disconcerting
