Covid part is over. Shingles a few days in.Hopefully, I started the antiviral in time to make a difference. blister stage now.
jeebus. my body loves dramatics.
Sorry to see that. I had shingles a couple of years back. The anti-virals (big. Lego-sized pills, 3x a day for a week) stopped the spread, and any other issues, but it was achey and burny for longer than I care to remember. I went through a lot of topical treatments - lidocaine products mostly. Wishing you well.
Sorry to see this, T. Hope you feel much better soon.

I am officially retired! the boss sprung for an office party at a really nice restaurant. I am working 2 days a week for extra $ and ease myself into the lifestyle change. it can be a little scary to let go

Congrats!! As my mentor said, the last time weâd meet up professionally, âDonât forgetâ¦you are not your job.â And I bet there was something in his brain that made him say that to me.
But it is weird to learn, work, get comfy with something, have it be what youâve spent a big part of your life doing, and then turn it to zero overnight. I couldnât do it. So that two day a week thing works great. Except now I had to move away from it for a year and I donât miss it whatsoever. Although the extra money let me supersize my fries, which was nice.

Congratulations! I retired in May and also did not completely quit cold-turkey. Still have some research stuff to do, but, I am enjoying the extra time! Enjoy yourself!!!
