It would be fun to hear her cover of Ball of Confusion, from BEF’s 1982 album Music of Quality and Distinction, Vol 1. In my mind, that surprise hit had a lot to do with her 80’s “comeback”, including the Private Dancer album.

BEF’s MoQaD V1 album is made up entirely of quirky covers (e.g., Gary Glitter singing Suspicious Minds). Playing some of those tunes on the Main Mix would really set off the anti-cover trolls, adding to the fun.

Pretty sure Ike's not upstairs. And even if he was Tina wouldn't waste spit on him.
While in college at WVU, I would often attend concerts, even if I wasn't really a fan.   I've always respected Tina's talent, and enjoyed her music, but it wasn't like I was buying her albums and such...

But when performers were booked at my university, the tickets were quite affordable, and easy to get.

Tina Turner was definitely a great show, and even in the mid-80s, she was smoking hot.

Another great Holly Knight composition!

With master Ruper Hine at the mixer.

(probably in the backing vocals as well)
Another great Holly Knight composition!
I have the feeling for some years Tina is getting slowly re-discovered! This is a movement that I would certainly not categorise as an aberration.
So very good for us.
The backing band is cooking.
Jamie West-Oram’s (The Fixx) guitar is the perfect complement to Tina’s stellar vocals.
A stunning anthem for and from her.
Never to be forgotten.
What a lady and what a survivor.

Aaaaand I'm 13 again.
Dommage que tu sois parti trop tôt , un talent incommensurable. RIP Tina
More TINA!!!!!
Witnessed Tina Turner when she was with Ike at a Rock Festival, front row, in 1969 at the age of 14.  A memorable experience.
Back in the day when this album was a hit, they only ever played Private Dancer and What's Love Got to Do With It on the radio, neither of which I liked. This song is much better.
There were good things in the 80s and Tina Turner was one of the best.
Tina. Every damn day.
Not having heard this before, thanks RP!
Reminds of Clarence Carter.

Nah. Shirley Bassey is THE queen.

Yes, Ike, why can´t you be good to me?
Oh, so cool to hear this song on RP. I just love it.

Agreed. If I like/love such songs I automatically rate them 10s.

Wow I have not heard this in forever and I forgot how awesome Tina is!  Thanks Bill
Nice to see Miss Tina added. Hubby has this LP from back in the day.
