This song deserves a higher rating. C'mon, your rating of mediocre is sorta mediocre.
This guy played on of our small local festivals recently, and he and his band are absolute gems. Super kind and down to earth, fantastic with our kids, all while channeling Lou Reed.
I hope I'll hear Willie Nile's 'On the Road to Calvary' or 'Black Magic and White Lies' playing on RP someday. :-)
Sounds like John Cougar with a little Bryan Adams thrown in.  New to me

Was thinking the same thing....
This is willy nilly?

 No.  Something's off...

not bad, but also kind of sounds like Dylan on a turntable that spins a bit fast.
Darlin' love the comment :-)

The opening sounds a lot like The Shins' "Phantom Limb"....
Willie Nile is an incredible talent. I have seen him perform in Newfoundland, in Atlantic Canada several times. Great performer.
"Welcome to my Head" is another fantastic tune!
Great segue, from Bruce to Willie.

when i saw Willie at the Bottom Line when this album came out, he was amazing....so much energy on stage.

30+ years i saw him in Teaneck NJ (Mexacali Live) he was just as energetic and fun

PLAY MORE WILLIE NILE !!!!

I first heard this in 1981. Fantastic album. Infectious song.
Eau de Nile.
Sounds pretty good,   a little touch of George Harrison in there!

More Willie Bill!  He's got a great music catalog and gets very little exposure.

I fought the law, but the law won.
At Last Willie Nyle. Great singer, too underrated. I like!!
I hear a perky Gene Vincent quality to Willie's love-drenched voice
I've always liked "Places I Have Never Been"  by Willie.
I need to try that in the suggestion box.

But not with that lame song, I assume!

Sounded like a rather untalented biker-rocker to me!

Hard to judge from one song alone, though!

Wow!  He was on tour with The Who after this album came out!

Catchy moon tune...

Hard to believe this hasn't been played on RP before today. Great little catchy tune.
