"Welcome to the Monkey House" = a perennial favorite LP of mine.

And "Enjoy Yourself" off of  "The Machine" -- makes me laugh out loudand really hard every time I listen to it. Fantastic tongue-in-cheek reminiscence of being young.... 

Can't remem ber when  or where I saw this, maybe 10-15 yrs ago, but Courtney Taylor-Taylor had (or has) a blog  of movie reviews. He's quite the humorous guy...

I can get down with the Dandy's, but this is shit is weak.

The background vocals are provided by drummer Brent "Fathead" DeBoer.  I love the Dandys also and saw them last Summer in Charlotte, NC at the Fillmore.  My son and I actually got hang out with them until about 3:30 am that night.   They are very approachable "normal" people despite the persona of the Dandy's.  Courtney Taylor-Taylor, despite his reputation as being opinionated etc, I found to be really a warm and generous person.  He's a well read, intellectual, west coast type, sprinkled with a healthy ego so it would not surprise me in the least that he might be the type to not suffer fools wisely.  But, like any artist I'm a fan of, it's all about the music!

My son's favorite band growing up was the Dandys and now my son considers them friends.  He even went to Portland spend some time with them (primarily Courtney) because he is studying music business here in Virginia.  He even got to do some recording at the "Odditorium" where they produce themselves and other bands via their label "Beat the World" records.

That entire story seems really surreal to me now.  I can't believe it even happened.

I uploaded this months back and it was instant sorried.  Glad to see it resuscitated and added to the playlist although my upload still shows sorry.

Was not aware of a new Dandy's recording. How's the rest of the album?  I like this...

Love the Dandys. Not my favorite tune by this great band though.

The song's OK, but the background vocalist rubs me the wrong way. I think I just don't like the notes he's singing...
