Thanks for your thoughts. I did not read the books, but I certainly did not pick up on that when I took Kid No. 2 to the first Hunger Games movie.

The books are about a rebellion against a government that allows the Hunger Games to exist.

My rating for this song is only 7
But the picture "Hunger games" was good, especially the first part

but today you play this song AGAIN so I SKIP
Not my favorite Neko song but always so happy to hear her voice. Thanks RP for introducing me to her music....{#Jump}
I like this song but, the string section sounds like its from a different song

That's the point of the Hunger Games - that we shouldn't be morally ambivalent to the murder of children.  The whole series is about people fighting against just such a thing.

Have you read the books? All of them? I have, and I believe it is a very moral tale amidst a great deal of moral ambivalence. Sorta like real life, eh? And the one thing they are absolutely not ambivalent about is the murder of children by other children.

Meh to Neko (this is a 3 max for me), but The Hunger Games is a story. . . if morals were applied to all fiction like you suggest then I would suggest what would be left would mostly be unreadable pap.

Love Neko. I am disturbed by the application of any moral standard to art. What we inevitably end up with is the Catholic Church's movie ratings, Hitler's standards for Aryan painting and illustration, the banning of Joyce's Ulysses, and book and record burnings.

Everyone applies moral standard to art—except those who do not recognize morality of any kind (societies tend to keep those locked away for the obvious reasons)  the question has always been who gets to make the moral judgments.  So just as we can imagine art under moral judgment constraints that we find too restrictive, try to imagine an artistic world with no moral constraints at all.  I assure you it would be absolutely horrid.    We rightly do not tolerate snuff films, child pornography, etc. and assuredly the human mind can come up with way worse things than that
Holy Crap!  A Neko song that I completely missed.  I'm slipping...{#Confused}
I try to keep the politics out of my love for music.  The just don't work that way.

beautiful...  love this song...  sigh...

What an incredible talent.  I luv that voice.

The second song I've rated at 10.

Love Niko, indifferent to Hunger Games.  I may Netflix it at some point if I run out of bad zombie movies to watch.

I was going to say the same thing.  Then I saw it was on a soundtrack and was let down entirely that it wasn't a new Neko album.

I don't remember hearing this in the movie.  I would have thought I would recognize it as Neko in the movie.
Neko Case really works a song.  Love it.

This will suffice until she puts out a new album!
New Neko!  Woohoo!
