This song caused me to have a new appreciation for Nick Cave
Just saw him in Copenhagen... how many times can he transform and still grab an audience? love this song and album, but the BAd Seeds are so much more live.
Funny, although I know this song/Nick Cave, as I was listening without looking up at the RP website, my first thought when I heard the voice was "Darius Rucker"...
More moaning than singing, but then perhaps that's the intention.

Nick's newish album Ghosteen is incredibly beautiful and heartbreaking. Goes into the love for his son and the grief of dealing with his death.

Delighted I have finally "caught up" with Nick Cave via RP. Had a couple of pals who were really into Nick Cave, at the time. They were on to something for sure.
Nick Cave is great. Often under rated. Good songwriter. Good performer.
Nick Cave is one of the greatest artists of our times. So glad to hear him here.

Nick´s deep warm voice in this song is nourishing a part in my tender heart..... Saw him last year in Germany, so happy have been there....

Have just upped this from a 7 to a 9. Beautiful, melancholy, .... cannot think of the right adjectives.
A new orchestration would have a darker mood... more bass and maybe a cello...But the lyrics and melody would hold...Yeah, only 15 years old...But new century new sounds..

....and that is a wonderful soundtrack - some incredible tracks by many incredible artists! Soundtrack is better than the film. Before NC was solo he was in a punk|hardcore band called "The Birthday Party" which has some great tunes if your inclined to the intensity of that type of music.

i had no idea Mr. Cave could sing. I love his music, but i rarely think of his vocals as 'singing'... this is incredible

I agree! This album is just fantastic. I read a review of this album in the New Yorker after I got the CD and my favorite line in it went something like this: "If Nick Cave is capable of creating an album like this why was he yelling at us for all those years?"

pretty nice! I'm not very familiar with him or his work, but he has a very nice voice.

Cool! Nice atmosphere.
I've noticed that Nick Cave fans are largely divided in their opinion of this album. Personally, I rate it among my favourite, but I can see why some would rather his harder, louder, grittier work.
I'm with the people who consider this song snoozeworthy. I'd much rather hear more of Cave's edgier stuff.
I know you get this all the time, but this is a nice set, BillG. Nice "welcome back" to the office on a Monday.

You know, I am not against this guy...but right now I can't drag myself any slower and this song drips slower than glue. Its like a shot of anesthia! Can't stay awake
