...oh, YEAAHHH....definitely. A friend of mine stated there are only 10/12 known chords/riffs, then it starts repeating. Comments?

That "lay you down"-bit is something I'd call 'easy to hate', but I kinda like it. A 6.

Ditto. Even stealing a classic riff doesn't save this one. I usually like VH but this just isn't doign it.
I used to earn free food playing cover songs - the set list included a number of their songs.

very different from the vertical horizon that i remember from ~2001, but i like!
I used to really like these guys. Then they totally changed their sound and the radio found them (for a while).
Still dig their old stuff... like this one. Japan is an awesome song too.

Anyway, this entire live album is excellent, really shows a whole different side of Vertical Horizon from their earlier work.
Indeed, sounds like the Doobie Brothers and Toad the Wet Sprocket in a blender. Which isn't too bad, but it does sound very derivative.
