Aw, geez. This is not really worth the effort of listening, is it? Maybe there is a listenership out there, but why? Seems to me that Frank Zappa dealt with this sort of stuff around 1966 or so, and much more interestingly: 'plastic boots and plastic hat, and you think you know where it's at'.

I spent $38 dollars (plus TicketBastard) to see them two weeks ago at House of Blues in Chicago AND THEY DIDN'T EVEN PLAY THIS!!!! What a ripoff!!!! :(

Huh. I always got the feeling that the lead singer thought he was being clever, when in fact he's simply annoying.

As for the two or three song thing, I think that's because they just keep re-doing the same thing. Having to listen to a whole album (courtesy of a former officemate) is like having the same song stuck on repeat.

Well, it's this attitude that allows people (worldwide, although it is very American) to rapaciously consume until this planet's resources are dried up and we really are poor, or worse. In a most recent interview on Fresh Air (NPR w/ Terri Gross) he tell us what he was thinking about when he wrote this song. Not anti-American at all. Anti-consumerism is more like it. Of course many of you will equate consumerism with Americana.

Don't hate the CAKE, in a world of carbon copy alternative wanna be's they are one of the few bands you can actually call oriiginal on the airwaves.
