Hey, I like Natalie Merchant, but I think you overplay her (I think I hear her here every day).    There are a lot of great to excellent female vocalists - how about some Annie Lennox, Chrissie Hynde, Shawn Colvin, sade, Enya, Linda Ronstadt, Cyndi Lauper, Debbie Harry....just saying..
This is one of her best though, I will grant you that, so thanks.

Ever since her days in 10,000 Maniacs, I've enjoyed her creative style and while it doesn't seem to appeal to many, it does to me.

She's a  Yankee singing southern.  However, I still like Natalie, her voice and her attachment to the message she carries in her song choices.
