I don't hate this as much as some folks here, but not a huge fan of these mashups. I'll concede that they take a good amount of talent to create, but it feels like a very different kind of artistry than creating original music. My gripe is that Bill apparently likes these SO much that you never hear the original music on the main mix, just these weird dance remixes of a Grateful Dead song, a DJ remix of Rapture by Blondie, and then the same day, this mashup of Rapture. I can't remember how long it's been since I've heard just a straight-up Blondie song.
Agree with you, and yes, some of these original songs would be great to hear on RP on occasion.
I will allow it.
I will not.
the Beatles White Album. Even more bizarre than this
I could hear it happening....
I'm actually a pretty big fan of anything that makes people so upset.
Yes, it's nice to get out of your box sometimes. Thanks Bill!

Songwriting credits: strictly Doors and Harry/Stein
Performer credits: Doors, Blondie, and also Mark Vidler (since I think he may have added drum beats).
But other than drum beats, Mark Vidler contributed nothing that would incur any additional royalties, right? I don't think you get any money for just arranging 2 songs into one. Not even a producer credit.
Debbie Harry isn't dead.
She may still display the presence of metabolism, but still.
This is so dumb. It just ruins both songs and makes me want to listen to each original in order to wash this crap out of my ears.
Debbie Harry isn't dead.

What unholy union is this.
I Agree! That is why I like it! ...sometimes WTF is a Good Thing!!

5 to 8 for me, hit me in the right mood (and altitude) this evening, and I'm wanting to hear this again in my favorites (when I possibly could re-rate downwards).
Oh what a fickle RP-world; I like!!
Long Live RP!!
Same here, I Agree! This is the 1st that I have heard it I gave it an EIGHT!
7 -> 8

Party on dudes

Please show us on the doll where the song hurt you...
To be fair, considering the amount of chemicals in his system, he probably would have anyway.
Witty....
lord, what a travesty. disco click track crap. done purely for commercial distribution. bleh.
Could not disagree more. Someone noticed similarities between these two mega-hits and mashed them together. I'm dancing while voting it 9.

(And I keep thinking about the baby that could have been produced by Debbie Harry and Jim Morrison ... blows my mind!)

Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
I give the use of 'vomitrocius' in a sentence an '8'
Wow. This sucks.
Total mess.
Morrison is flipping out in his grave....

Jim would vomit

This song seems to bring out similar emotions!
Anyone remembers where that bass line came from?
I'm gonna say Chic - Good Times, also used in Rapper's Delight
Dig that funkay bass groove.

Know there's Blondie and Doors diehard fans here, but geez...

I like it too!
There's certainly no shortage of people who do this. Many of them better than this guy.
That said, I really thought novelty songs were below RP...
“You got chocolate in my peanut butter!”
this most excellent track reminds me of that old ad.
seems like biggest haters are also old enough to remember the ad.
We didn’t have PSD back then.
Been listening to it for 15 years and hasn't got old yet. Solid 9.
didn't know instruments was required for Art
Rembrandt played what now? Van Gogh played by ear?
