Shake it, shake it, shake it, feel good
Shake it, shake it, shake it, feel good
Shake it, shake it, shake it, feel good
Shake it, shake it, shake it, feel good
Shake it, shake it, shake it, feel good
Shake it, shake it, shake it, feel good
Shake it, shake it, shake it, feel good
Shake it, shake it, shake it, feel good
City's breaking down on a camel's back
They just have to go 'cause they don't know whack
So all you fill the streets, it's appealing to see
You won't get out the county, 'cause you're damned as free
You got a new horizon, it's ephemeral style
A melancholy town where we never smile
And all I wanna hear is the message beep
My dreams, they gotta kiss because I don't get sleep, no
Windmill, windmill for the land
Turn forever, hand in hand
Take it all in on your stride
It is ticking, falling down
Love forever, love is free
Let's turn forever, you and me
Windmill, windmill for the land
Is everybody in?
Laughing gas these hazmats, fast cats,
Lining them up like ass cracks,
Ladies, homies, at the track
It's my chocolate attack
Shit, I'm stepping in the heart of this here
Care bear bumping in the heart of this here
Watch me as I gravitate,
Hahahahahaa
Yo, we goin' ghost town,
This Motown,
With yo sound
You're in the blink
You gonna bite the dust
Can't fight with us
With yo sound
You kill the Inc.
So don't stop, get it, get it
Until you jet ahead
Yo, watch the way I navigate,
Hahahahahaa
Shake it, shake it, shake it, feel good, AHHHHahahahah
Shake it, shake it, shake it, feel good, AHHHHahahahah
Shake it, shake it, shake it, feel good, AHHHHahahahah
Shake it, shake it, shake it, feel good, AHHHHahahahah
Windmill, windmill for the land
Turn forever, hand in hand
Take it all in on your stride
It is ticking, falling down
Love forever, love is free
Let's turn forever, you and me
Windmill, windmill for the land
Is everybody in?
Don't stop, get it, get it
We are your captains in it
Steady, watch me navigate,
Hahahahahaa
Don't stop, get it, get it
We are your captains in it
Steady, watch me navigate
Hahahahahaa
Feel good...
Shake it, shake it, shake it, feel good, AHHHHahahahah

Mississippi John Hurt Nobody's Business But Mine into Gorillaz Feel Good Inc. No where else but RP will you get a segway like that

Just danced with my wifey and two big dogs to this ripper of a song!
We all of us thank you two! xoxo
and me with me wifey and cat haha
Eh, plenty of other places to get hip hop... this isn't that station.
Which bit of "eclectic" are you struggling with?
I comment too much on this one song. I must like it.
Eh, plenty of other places to get hip hop... this isn't that station.
We all have to put up with something we don't like around here. Anyway - this isn't what I'd call hip hop, I'm not sure I've ever heard any straight out hip hop on here which I would welcome and in fact I'm going to make some suggestions.
same song twice in a day. ok!
LOVE LOVE LOVE this CD...have for years... do yourself a favor and watch the Direct TV concert from many years ago. sooooo good...
indeed. i think it's from 2005 or something? i watched it this last weekend - probably for the 5th time. it's awesome.

And it looks like they're all having SO much fun! Especially the string section.
Not too many songs on RP mention ass cracks.
Or HazMats.
For those who say the lyrics are meaningless, I knew exactly what the lyrics meant then. This song made me want to jump up and sieze the day:
"Windmill, windmill for the land
Turn forever hand in hand
Take it all in on your stride
It is ticking, falling down
Love forever, love is freely
Turned forever, you and me
Windmill, windmill for the land
Is everybody in?"
I just don't _get_ it, though. Great beat, the rap section is cool, but the lyrics don't make any _sense_. (Not that anyone said they had to!)
On my gosh!
This must be the 1st time this has ever happened with a rap song:
Don't get me wrong
I wear a sarong
pass the bong
Short, no long
Ding...a dong?
King, no its Kong
Can't count the number of people on to whom I've foisted RP. No complaints yet, though, so onward we go.
True story -- a friend who I had not seen in years was in town. I had turned him on to RP some time in the mid 2010s. He asked me what I listened to, and I said mostly streaming stuff. He perked up with that, "oh there's this GREAT station called Radio Paradise." I just pretended to be impressed.
Not too many songs on RP mention ass cracks.
Or hazmats!
And I still love it!
Witness the spectrum of diversity on this fully operational radio station !
IT'S A TRAP!
Sorry, couldn't resist. Happily trapped...

Observed in vacuum this is a solid 9.
Dads listening to this station react to hip hop like my allergic cousin to a peanut..
In this house it is the Dad who constantly pushes RP on his kids
Not too many songs on RP mention ass cracks.
Or a city that's breaking down on a camel's back ...
Reality, who listens to mainstream radio anymore??

Observed in vacuum this is a solid 9.

Great tune, solid 9 from South Billyburg where the only vacuums are Hoovers!
Not sure what you mean about Dads.
Dads listening to this station react to hip hop like my allergic cousin to a peanut..
Yes!
We all of us thank you two! xoxo
turning off slide show, just to be safe.

Seems like these Bananas's boogeing is synched

Other replies to this are great and mentioned the human touch. What is missing with automatic DJ apps is the magic of the segue, which Bill makes look easy, which is genius. AND themed sets so subtle you may not notice, which no algorithm could dream up.
TOTALLY NAILED IT!
Plastic beach is also magnificent album, and environmental, though.
The Kinks were first ;-) -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDhfzuWs8Xw
Tom Tom Club — Suboceana
Marvin Gaye — Got To Give It Up
Gorillaz — Feel Good Inc.
Bill is in a party mood. I like that!
Rap? Hahahaha...the semi-spoken part in the middle of this song makes this a rap song about as much as Dylan's Subterranean Homesick Blues is a rap song. A pet peeve of mine is when people dismiss "rap" music categorically. You couldn't pay me to listen to commercial, mainstream rap that celebrates money, guns and (politely) women...but there is so much creativity and musical genius in the wider hip-hop genre (underground, indie, etc.) Lots of poets and idealists there, along with infectious melody, awesome beats, and lyrical innovation.
As last posts go, this one seems hard to beat. Is it too late to nominate this for 2013 post of the year? :-)
I'm just the opposite. Anything close to Rap is my favorite flavor.
Just my thoughts when I first heard it, love it, though!

Amen! And the rappers on this track, De La Soul, are some of the best.
Their 3rd album, Buhloone Mindstate, is easily among the best albums of all time, IMO.

(That's who provides the rap portion of this tune.)

the trouble with Pandora is that it gets incredibly boring. What I love about RP is the variety
Yeah. Pandora is horrible, but I still go there. Sometimes I need a change of pace and you can make your own station, worthless though it may be.

Humans rule. Talented, devoted humans are the best!

Here, here! for hear_my_name! Well put!

Absolutely it does, rap is not one of those conduits. Period....

Every now and then I feel just like this. But then RP plays something I love and would never have known about otherwise, and I am grateful to have the chance to listen or not listen knowing that something great is just around the corner. We have music we love because artists pushed the normal boundaries, and because others were there to listen. I think there is always more to come if we keep our hearts, minds, and ears open.
I don't know if I'd go that far... Well, maybe a tiny bit, but only if The Streets were included in the playlist.
I did drunk karaoke to this once. At times it's almost as hard as Blues Travellers's The Hook, even when one isn't half in the bag.
I wish they had an emoticon for "snort laugh out loud"
Hip Hop never killed anyone, except for maybe several hip hop artists.

Facing up to the fact that The Madonna -vs- Lady Gaga moment just aint gonna happen on RP.
Too true.

I don't think that's what he's singing in the second line there. I hear the words "bitch" "slap" and "girl."
Nice!
while listening to U2, I was thinking it was similar to this Gorillaz song. I guess Bill thought so too!
vice versa...but you're right

(By the way, did he say "ass-crack"? Eeewww.)

Melody is similar.

I always crank the volume when I hear this song. . .
I needed a "pick-me-up"!

At a summer festival in Slovakia, Damon Albarn walked onto the stage before thousands of Gorillaz fans. Across his chest were three words written in Serbian Cyrillic:
СТУДЕНТИ ПОБЕЂУЈУ.
The students are winning.
For most of the audience, it was an unfamiliar sentence in an unfamiliar alphabet. But for people from Serbia, it was unmistakable. This was not merchandise or a fashionable political slogan. It was a message born in blocked universities, silent streets and a country’s refusal to forget sixteen stolen lives.
On 1 November 2024, at 11:52 in the morning, the concrete canopy of the recently renovated railway station in Novi Sad collapsed onto the people beneath it.
Sixteen of them would never return home.
The authorities offered statements, resignations and incomplete explanations. But the students asked the simplest and most dangerous questions a corrupt system can face:
Who was responsible?
Where were the documents?
Who profited from the reconstruction?
Why did the institutions fail to protect ordinary people?
When clear answers did not come, the students stopped their classes.
They stood silently for sixteen minutes—one minute for every life lost. Then they began to walk. From university to university, from town to town, across bridges and through villages where people waited for them with food, water and tears. Farmers guarded them with tractors. Taxi drivers carried them home without charge. Teachers, lawyers, workers, bikers and veterans joined them.
They had no supreme leader for the authorities to arrest, no party headquarters to raid and no single voice that could be bought or threatened into silence. Their strength came from thousands of people making decisions together.
The government called them foreign agents. Loyalist tabloids called them traitors, terrorists and enemies of Serbia. Protesters were followed, threatened, arrested and attacked. Television stations reduced enormous crowds to carefully selected camera angles.
But the students kept walking.
They were not fighting against Serbia. They were fighting for a Serbia in which public buildings did not become graves, documents did not disappear and political connections could not place anyone above the law.
Outside the Balkans, the story appeared only in fragments. A huge demonstration. A clash with police. A resignation. Then another international crisis pushed it from the headlines. One of Europe’s most remarkable student movements continued largely beyond the world’s attention.
Yet the silence was never complete.
Madonna shared images of the demonstrations and called them the “Power of unity.” Massive Attack, Garbage, Manu Chao, Bob Geldof and other artists expressed their support.
Damon Albarn first wore a small badge reading „Студенти побеђују.“ Then, during Gorillaz’s 2026 European tour, the badge became a shirt.
This was not a story about famous musicians rescuing a movement. The movement had already survived without them. Their gestures simply proved that the walls built around Serbia were not soundproof.
Under the festival lights in Slovakia, a Serbian sentence travelled across Europe without permission from any government, television editor or political party.
The students are winning.
They had not yet defeated the entire system. Corruption had not disappeared, institutions had not been repaired and justice for the victims remained unfinished. But something fundamental had already changed.
For years, the regime had taught people that resistance was pointless—that everyone was alone, everyone was afraid and nothing could ever change.
The students broke that spell.
They turned grief into solidarity, silence into resistance and fear into something the authorities themselves were beginning to feel.
A railway canopy that was supposed to shelter people had collapsed and killed them. In its place, the students built another kind of shelter—one made of memory, courage and the promise that nobody would be abandoned beneath the ruins again.
That was the real meaning of the words on Damon Albarn’s shirt.
The students were winning because, after years of being told to lower their heads, an entire generation had finally looked the system directly in the eyes—and refused to look away.
