We just planned it... sorta.
So far... 2nd week of October start.
Grand Canyon Railroad, Monument Valley, Valley of the Gods, Mogi Dugway, Arches N.P., Canyonlands N.P., Cheyenne, Worland, Powell, Cody, Wyoming, Yellowstone, Spokane, Grand Coulee, And More.

The USGS had a good explanation of how this is not caused by changes in the magma system and how these hydrothermal explosions occur periodically in the park. So I reckon you are ok.

Have a good visit and don't break any glass tables.

Thanks! Black Diamond Geyser. That's crazy high; I don't think it's in the books as being that big. It erupted in May after some increased activity (typically just a pool). Before that, it was 8 years since the last eruption.

There's a forest fire raging the our mountain parks.  Major highway 16 shut down between BC & AB - and the town of Jasper evacuated last night.  Mother Gaia is unhappy with us.

You could say that about all kinds of things that should be priorities (and I think aid to Ukraine is a high priority). When I was in grad school my thought about whatever war was going on at the time was that if they had used just one fewer cruise missiles that could have covered my whole education.

Guard units are on the scene in gateway communities; I'm not sure about inside Yellowstone but they sometimes also get regular army fighting fires. But the "season" for road construction up there is only a few months; that main road north out of Mammoth will be a massive project... I think they're talking about abandoning the riverside drive and going back to the old wagon road, though... that will be easier to get done by September.
