Yep - very good I thought. I do hope he can stop moping about Gallifrey now he's going to look for it, all that introspection was getting on my tits a bit in the last two series :-)

I agree, although maybe they were building up to this.  Then again, what's he going to do with it once he finds it?  I mean they aren't so friendly to him and weren't even very good at fighting the Daleks.

I am a late starter in Dr Who.  Only started watching in '64.  Lost track for a while when I moved to the States then rediscovered it in the mid 70's with Tom Baker. Rediscovered it again about 6 months ago. I now have watched every episode since it was reinvented in reruns with my ten year old son.  He loves it.  I loved the old shows even though they were pretty hokey.  The B&W ones scared the hell out of me but I was pretty young.   The new ones are great!  Probably the best SciFi out there.Can't wait to see part 2.  I think we can see why Nixon erased some of his tapes!

Aw, you just like 'em because Karen Gillan is a Scot!

I agree.  Had to put it on the DVR because I was out of town Saturday - just finished watching it tonight.  Damn - didn't seem like an hour went by and it was over.  Hope it doesn't dissapoint - but it rarely does.

This thread made me think of the Dr. Who story line that scared me to death, and even in retrospect, it IS almost a full horror one.... Had to look for it, and found it!

{#Angel} Personally I just watch for the pretty colors and moving pictures.

@umber
I agree David Tennat was great.  It's took me a while to warm up to Matt Smith but his version of the Doctor is growing on me - and Billie Piper (I meant to say Karen Gillan) helps things along!

The tenth doctor was the best ever, but the eleventh is a turn off, IMO. The ninth doctor was pretty cool too.

That debate is going here to some extent - idiot parents, who as kids loved hiding behind the sofa when the cybermen atttacked, complaining it might scare their precious little darlings. The Tom Baker Dr. Who was the only one for a long time on Dutch TV. When the show was cancelled here I thought it was because people here didn't like it. It was only recently I found out that parents petitioned against the show because it was "too scary for kids"... I was one of those kids, and I LOVED it... and was scared, yeah, but that was part of the fun :sadface:
