1) The bottom map isn't a Mercator Projection. Aside from that, it has added a lot of non-existent ocean between Russia and Alaska.
2) If you compare the maps, the bottom map has Africa spanning 1 set of shown lines of latitude plus a bit on the north and the south. On the top map they have added the equator, which is missing from the bottom. Weirdly, the bottom map is very similar in what is shown for the southern hemisphere, showing about the same amount of Antarctica, but has added more to the north to show northern Canada, Greenland and some miscellaneous islands north of Europe and Asia. So if you don't care that major chunks of the world's land exist, sure lop them off. Canada isn't important, anyway.
3) There are other projections that do a better job of balancing the competing reasons for making a world map but they tent to look chopped up and not as much like a sphere to people who are not as used to them.
And Adele doesn't count. Hers is the only album in the streaming era and at the risk of being proven wrong I'm going to guess there's no way she sold 17 million physical copies total of all of her output.

Yeah, I wonder...From what I can find Dark Side of the Moon has sold almost 22 million copies in America so the varacity of that list might be questionable.
I was looking for DSOTM, so I find that list questionable also.

The RIAA-compiled list, on Wikipedia, shows that Hootie album of having 14.58 million sales in the U.S. (21st place) and DSOTM having 15 million in the U.S. (18th place).

Trump isn't a techno anything; just an idiot. But whoever put it in his head that we should own Greenland, Cuba, Venezuela, etc. certainly has some idea about this stuff.
Whoever sketched this up on some AI fantasy notepad has obviously never been to Magdalena Bay. The idea of that place as a defense base is laughable. Good place to see whales, and get a fish taco, but it's easier to reliably get a supply truck to Guantanamo Bay.
