It's pretty by the lake (reservoir). But it gets crazy on holiday weekends (20+ years ago). We started going to Grayrocks instead. It is mostly for the power plant and the facilities aren't as nice/complete. Lots of guys fishing on the shoreline, so we could ski up and down the lake w/o much traffic.

Ordered something sent to Powell, Wyoming via a pro deal that's coming out of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Did you know there's a suburb of that city called Wyoming, Michigan? No update today, so I imagine it's being put into a PowerPoint on how to let the robots read a ZIP code instead of just throwing it on the truck headed for Ohio...

Yep, especially since ONT airport exists.

Shipping/logistics have never really recovered from covid.  I'm not sure if it was the fragility of the system initially, or the scale of the increase since, but it's a house of cards.  Especially astonishing when you see the $s being poured into regional warehousing. I can't believe they think it's a good idea to put that much capital into the 'funnel', when the fulfillment side is so inherently weak. I guess as long as they have an army of low paid workers willing to use their own cars and deliver for less than minimum wage it doesn't matter?

This one left Seattle over a week ago: I get a lot of "moving on to the next facility", but rarely any "arrived at" notes. It used to say delivery was Thursday (last Thursday), but they gave up that farce on Sunday and now it's just "Late".

I think it's stuck in Indianapolis with a fuel pump that's deceased. Hasn't moved since Friday.

In related news, if you're flying in to Austin, Texas, be careful not to select the Austin, Minnesota airport. Your vacation would be very, very different.

That Ryan has some common sense.
It's too bad the "rules and regulations" of most politicians restrict the "common" out of  "sense".

This article agrees.

I still don't know what started this standstill in the first place. For some reason I'm thinking a Strike maybe? The system usually runs pretty smoothly.

and those owner/operators are getting screwed, apparently, but we can solve that problem later.
