We spent a night in Rawlins.
Thanks to a R. Paradise meet up.
Might be the oldest use of the term "trimmins" I've seen. It made a huge comeback in the 90s, usually in steakhouses to describe that yes you get A-1 sauce and a baked potato with chives. Trimmins.

So who went? We were trying to get to Casper but it didn't work out. I failed to remind Charlie (who's closer to Bozeman) about it. So the Froms are slackers.
Leaving Casper in a few hours. Pretty day. Headed to an indulgence: glamping at the foot of Mt Rushmore. Saved up enough points and using them up.

It was exactly what you're imagining. I appreciate the fact that he dropped the voice and the hair for a few years, but I gotta tell you, it was nice to see the "old" Emo.
Jensen was not familiar with his work, but was instantly a fan.

hiccup, Claire, Jensen and I were at the very first Rialto Show Friday. They did a weird format where Patton came out briefly, joked for 5-10 minutes and introduced Emo. Emo came out and I swear every line was literally LOL grade. High point? Something about a girl getting angry with him for not opening the car door for her, with him instead choosing to swim toward the surface. Patton came out and was (obviously) a bit more conversational. My favorite bit from him was actually a non-joke/rant about why the techno-bros have latched on to AI so hard (because they feel it enables them to become the creative people that they otherwise couldn't).
They both slayed. I've been a rabid Emo Philips fan since the mid-'80s, so I was a little more impressed with his set, but it was a great time. The audience was WAY more into it than I had anticipated.
Edit: I must note that the announcer at the Rialto said "Please welcome PAYTON Oswalt"...so that was fun.
In 2022 I tweeted that I had played every state but Wyoming & Montana. Patton Oswalt responded that he, too, had played every state Wyoming & Montana, and, thanks to him, this marvelous mini-tour (for we'll be in Bozeman too) was born.

Lander resident Albert Bertagnolli modified his pickup to drive backwards. He swapped the headlights and taillights, moved the engine and looks out over the bed driving the thing. When heâs driving down the street, it looks like heâs going backwards.
Dare I say that's actually pretty cool? I think I'll stick with the Miata and its conventional orientation.
