Watched the launch and got unexpectedly overwhelmed, watching the lit candle.
I was walking in the ICU while in training, and someone walked up to me and said "Did you hear the Challenger exploded?"
and I got a big smile and said, "...and?" because of course it was a tasteless joke coming. RIght?
I'll never forget that, and it all came rushing back to me today, like a hot kiss at the end of a wet fist.
Yeah, that was tough. Not quite as tough as being only 2 miles from the OKC bombing, tho.

The sad part is the SLS is an antiquated, over inflated, piece of equipment that will take 2.5x to get from earths orbit to the moon, excluding the 1 day earth orbit before the TLI. So much wasted money with incompetent leadership. If we used all those cost overruns, we could have had a moon base up and running for 20 years.
Im just glad weâve finally are pointed in the correct direction. GOD Speed to the astronauts.
First we had to put the mechanisms in place for profit... /s(ynicism) (yes I know it's not spelled that way, but it fits my theme this way).

I'm sad it has taken most of my life to get back to this, and I'm not thrilled about the commercial interests chomping at the bit (or already sneaking past the gate). but....
Little bits of it being vacuumed from its pole, traveling a mere million miles through space to be absorbed into the quasarâ¦
The mind boggles at things that exist, but that weâve never seen.

After multiple attempts whoosh and off to Mars we go. Glad to see another upstart company using reusable first stages. Something that the larger established companies canât get their heads around and their bloated old ways of doing things.
